Kuya Summer Edition 2013

andrew2013Coldwell Banker Jamaica Realty is the company that “never stops moving” and here we are again, pressing on with another great issue of KÚYA. When I went into the real estate business in 1991, I was inspired not only by this beautiful country, but by some of the great minds found here and notably past generations of individuals who built this nation, amongst them being real estate developer and businessman Maurice Facey.

Facey was a true visionary. Mr Facey died in April of this year, leaving behind a legacy that remains far and wide. His influence in both the private sector and public sector was indomitable as was obvious from the endless tributes in the media following his passing. As Coldwell Banker Jamaica Realty is in the business of real estate, this issue would not be complete without a tribute to the man that our team has dubbed “Mr Kingston”.

The idea behind KÚYA has always been to showcase our beautiful island and the personalities who make it tick. In this issue we highlight Coldwell Banker agent Sandy Tatham’s journey along the El Camino Trail in Northern Spain. Our ‘Spotlight’ is on Montego Bay resident and Executive Chairman of Caribbean Producers Jamaica, Mark Hart, on the big real estate investment his company has recently made in Kingston. We have also highlighted Zuar Jarrett, a young architect who is steadily making his mark in the industry

People like Mark Hart and Zuar Jarrett are believers and are taking a chance on real estate and so can you. There are many opportunities awaiting real estate- investors, from boutique hotels in Negril to development lands in St. Catherine to the potential for low-income housing schemes in St Mary and income earning villas, the possibilities are endless. With mortgage rates still at an all time low, there is no better time than now to invest in real estate, the investment that has proven over time to be both solid and stable.

So browse through the pages of this magazine and take a look at what Jamaica has to offer and when you put down KÚYA, feel free to spend some time on our user friendly website www.cbjamaica.com for more up-to-the-minute listings to buy, lease or rent.

Until next time, walk good!
